Christie Roueche

OWNER | Principal Planner + DESIGNER

Christie initially attended college at the University of New Orleans as a Theatre and Film major. If you ask her, she will tell you she wanted to be Julia Roberts when she grew up. It wasn’t until 2014 that she realized her passion for the production of weddings and events, and her company Mise En Place Events was born!

In the last 10 years Christie has cultivated her career in the event industry, making a name for her team as one of the top planning companies in the New Orleans area. In 2020, through the Covid crisis, Mise En Place Events was rebranded as Southern Approach, offering planning and management services for events throughout the entire Gulf Coast Region, and beyond!

When she’s not creating beautiful events - Christie loves to spend time with her husband Aaron and their three kids – Tristan, Leah, and Noah. She is a self-proclaimed crazy dog lady and has two rescue dogs – Donnie and Juno (the most spoiled mutts EVER!). You can usually find her drinking coffee and watching reruns of Friends and Grey’s Anatomy and working on her next home renovation or design!

You'll definitely catch us hopping in your photo booth when everyone else is on the dance floor or snagging a piece of cake for dessert during the reception.

Our team is ready to have fun with you! We always have a smile on our faces, ready to make sure you & your guests are having the time of their lives!

Our Process is Simple:

  • Let's book a date to get a chance to get to know you, hear your story, grasp your vision, and share a little about us to see if we're a good fit for each other.

  • We've gotten to know you a little more and have a better understanding of your personality and your overall vision of what you want and need for your upcoming journey. Next we’ll go over our service options and figure out which Approach & which Planner best fits your needs.

  • You’ve booked us for your event and now it's time to get started! Depending on the level of service you book will start with a Discovery phone call and gather information for your event!

  • Ok, here we go - Get ready to get the party started! Our team is fully prepared to guide you through planning the details of your event. Let's start knocking some tasks out and plan your event!

  • Our favorite part of what we do!  This is the day that all the hard work and effort pays off. We want you to embrace this day and not to worry about a thing - we've got your back and will work tirelessly to make the day one to remember for the rest of your life!
